West Indies vs Australia (WI vs AUS) 3rd Test Match Teams Preview
West Indies Preview
West Indies head coach Daren Sammy hasn’t confirmed Kraigg Brathwaite’s place in the XI for the series finale, after the veteran opener registered four consecutive single-digit scores in the current series. Brathwaite, who last scored a Test century in February 2023, has managed just three half-centuries since then.
Sammy noted that the team has “a couple more options” to consider at the top of the order. Potential replacements include Mikyle Louis, who opens for both West Indies A and the Leeward Islands in first-class cricket, and Kevlon Anderson, who typically bats at No. 3 for West Indies A and Guyana.

West Indies vs Australia (WI vs AUS) 3rd Test Key Players to Watch Out For
West Indies (WI)
1. Brandon King - Just two matches into his Test career, Brandon King has already shown the temperament and skill of a true Test batter. In challenging batting conditions, he's been the only West Indian to consistently trouble the Australian bowling attack. King scored the team's sole half-century of the series — a composed 75 in the first innings in Grenada — and it took a brilliant delivery from Pat Cummins to remove him in the second innings.
2. John Campbell - He has shown glimpses of fluency at the top of the order, arguably looking as comfortable as any opener in the series. However, he has only two starts to show for it — a quickfire 23 in Barbados cut short by an ill-advised scoop-sweep off Hazlewood, and a careless dismissal on 40 in Grenada after doing the hard work early on.
While his Test numbers don’t reflect his talent, Campbell deserves more than just three matches — especially on tough pitches against a world-class attack — to re-establish himself after a three-year absence. That said, West Indies will be hoping for a more measured approach and, crucially, a converted start in Jamaica to be confident he's the long-term solution at the top of the order.
Australia (AUS)
1. Mitchell Starc - The leading wicket-taker with the pink ball in Tests (74), Mitchell Starc is set to play his 100th Test under lights — becoming just the second Australian pacer after Glenn McGrath to reach the milestone. With 395 wickets, he’s also closing in on becoming only the second Aussie quick to reach 400 in Tests. Having struck in the first over four times with the pink ball, Starc will be a serious early threat for the West Indies in Jamaica.
2. Usman Khawaja - He still holds plenty of credit with the selectors, and there's been solid backing from Australia’s leadership that his Ashes spot is secure. But that credit is fading fast. Khawaja noted before the series that his stats speak for themselves — and right now, they paint a worrying picture. Since the 2023 Ashes, he’s passed 50 just four times in 33 innings, with his 232 in Sri Lanka standing as his only century and doing much of the statistical heavy lifting. More concerning, he’s averaging just 18.93 against pace in his last 10 Tests.
